Plotting Made Easy - Part I:
Synopsis Writing: It Starts with Just Three Words . . . and those words are not I love you! Do you dread having to write a synopsis? Early in her writing career, award-winning writer, Diana Stout did too. She read how-to books and articles, listened to speakers, and followed writers' examples, but none of it made sense until she began writing screenplays. Marrying key scrip elements to the idea of what editors wanted to see, she finally found a formula that removed the dread, and made synopsis writing enjoyable. And, it starts with just three words.
For the first in Diana's two-part Plotting Made Easy programs (the second will be in October), have a story in mind when you come to this hands-on workshop, one you're struggling with, working on, or one you want to develop. Starting with three words, you'll develop key sentences that become your one-page synopsis and the backbone of any long synopsis that you might be asked to write.
*NOTE* RSVPs are needed by no later than Weds, June 14 to provide Schuler's with a head count! Please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or respond via MMRWA's Facebook page or Website.
Dr. Diana Stout is currently querying producers for her screenplays, editing novels for publication, and writing a seven-part novella series. Learn more at her Sharpened Pencils Productions website.
