Kathleen Nance        KATHLEEN NANCE says her first declared career choice was detective, thanks to a shelf full of Nancy Drew books. Books have always been a treasured companion, a source of knowledge, and a means to travel beyond her world and experience It wasn't a far hop from a love of reading to a love of creating her own stories.

A practical streak led to a career in pharmacy, but her years of writing drug monographs strengthened a heartfelt appreciation for the joys of fiction. When she became a stay-at-home mom, it seemed a perfect time to put the dream of getting published into practice. Especially when she got to live with djinn, elves, and meddling Greek gods.

Her first book was published in 1998. Since then she's authored seven books and three novellas. She's has been a RITA finalist and her work has won a Golden Heart, a SARA Rising Star Grand Prize, the Holt Medallion, the PRISM Award, and the National Reader's Choice Award.

After eighteen years in New Orleans, she returned to her birth state of Michigan with a husband, three teenagers, and two cats. Along with laryngitis from cheering at track meets and soccer games, figuring out how to drive on snow and bundle up for cold, and a home health care variation to the pharmacy career, she still finds creating characters and plot is an irresistible challenge.

Only, in her books, Ned and Nancy are all grown up and falling in love.

Kathleen would love to hear from you by email, and you can learn more about her and her books from her website.

Dana Corbit        DANA CORBIT NUSSIO, a.k.a. DANA CORBIT started telling "people stories" at about the same time she started forming words. So it came as no surprise when the Indiana native chose a career as a newspaper reporter and features editor. She left the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom, but the stories came home with her as she discovered the joy of writing fiction.

Her first novel, A BLESSED LIFE, an Oct. 2002 from Steeple Hill Love Inspired, was a finalist in the HOLT Medallion competition. She has since sold three more novels to Steeple Hill.

Dana makes her home in Grand Rapids, Mich., with her husband, three daughters and two disinterested felines. She has been active in the Mid-Michigan RWA chapter since she joined in 1999, having served as the chapter secretary and chaired the Publicity, Published Author Network and Retreat Speaker committees.

Dana loves to hear from readers and may be contacted by email at danacorbit@earthlink.net or at P.O. Box 120044, Grand Rapids, MI 49512.
