        The Mid-Michigan Chapter of Romance Writers of America (MMRWA) was formed in 1984 to serve Central and Western Michigan writers of romantic fiction. Its purpose is to promote excellence in romantic fiction, to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field, and to provide continuing support for writers within the romance publishing industry.

       MMRWA members take the opportunity to network, celebrate and commiserate with other writers at our monthly luncheon meetings, which rotate between Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Jackson on the third Saturday of the month. Visitors may attend two meetings free of obligation.

	MMRWA Members' reduced entry fee for our "Happily Ever After" Contest.
	Our annual spring weekend "Retreat From Harsh Reality." Interact one-on-one with our guest author, kick back and renew your writer's soul -- MMRWA members receive a reduced registration fee.

       The members of this friendly, fun-loving, supportive group may not always take themselves seriously, but they take their writing very seriously and are dedicated to their writing careers. The chapter lists approximately 60 members, many of whom are published in book or magazine form in all areas of the romance genre: historical, contemporary, mystery/suspense, paranormal, romantica, and young adult.         MMRWA is a not-for-profit professional writers' association and an affiliated chapter of Romance Writers of America^® (RWA^® ). Chapter membership is contingent upon membership in RWA^® . Annual MMRWA dues are $24, payable on January 1st; January 31st the payment deadline before being dropped from membership. Dues are prorated on a quarterly basis for those joining after January.
